INDIRA IVF GETS GLOBAL RECOGNITION FROM BRITISH FERTILITY SOCIETY

~Increasing scope for training in assisted reproductive technology to address the growing need of specialists in India~
Indira IVF – India’s largest chain of infertility treatment hospitals – has been recognised by the British Fertility Society for its world-class Clinician and Embryology courses. The courses are offered by its training academy, Indira Fertility Academy. Situated in Udaipur, the Academy can train up to 40 students per quarter and aims to train about 1,000 Clinicians and Embryologists in the next six years by strengthening its courses in conjunction with the BFS.

The British Fertility Society is a forum that encompasses the clinical practice and science relating to human fertility, reproductive medicine and biology. Infertility specialists from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as well as the rest of the globe are members of the Society.
With this certification, Indira Fertility Academy will be providing specialised programmes on Management of the Infertile Couple, Assisted Conception, Quality Management of Fertility Service, Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing, Fertility Preservation, and Creating Modern Families and Donor Assisted Conception. These have been conceived keeping in mind the needs of patients, ensuring transparency, and working toward high successful outcomes. These students will receive a joint certificate from the British Fertility Society and Indira Fertility Academy.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kshitiz Murdia – CEO & Co-Founder of Indira IVF said, “We are extremely honoured that Indira Fertility Academy has received global recognition from the British Fertility Society. This has been made possible by the infrastructure we have in place which includes advanced stimulators, faculty, in-house research activities, patient care provided, and our growth over the years. Additionally, our training on standard operating procedures and the USP of providing hands-on training to each specialist such that they are fully-equipped to handle real-time cases have played an immense role in this achievement.”

“India currently has about 27.5 million infertile couples and the infertility specialist to patient ratio stands at an extremely concerning figure. An extrapolation from the Ernst & Young report, Call To Action, there is one embryologist per 27,500 couples in the country which is a significant disparity. With our work at Indira Fertility Academy, we seek to bridge the gap and make education on assisted reproductive technology available to all,” Dr Murdia added.
Indira Fertility Academy has recently inaugurated one-year courses in Fellowship for Clinical Embryologists and Fellowship for Clinicians. Indira Fertility Academy is armed with experienced faculty who have provided hands-on training to students from India as well as internationally from Cambodia, Kenya, Gambia, Nepal, and Bangladesh; the Academy is also looking forward to host students from Europe in the coming year. Till date, Indira Fertility Academy has have trained over 300 clinicians, more than 250 embryologists, and 200 and counting andrologists since its inception in 2018.
